Over 50 years in the making, Rega's latest Planar-3 RS Edition package promises to offer the ultimate in turntable performance, all for less than £1000
Rega have always pioneered the use of lightweight, ultra rigid plinths since they started making their Planar range of turntables over 50 years ago. Their use of lightweight particulate core with a highly rigid phenolic resin skin became the foundations of the high level of performance achieved by the iconic Planar range.
And their latest variant of the classic Planar-3 turntable has recently been announced.
The Rega Planar-3 RS Edition (Rega Special) is constructed using a brand-new aluminium metal skin HPL laminate to create the stiffest plinth Rega have produced at this performance level .
The stunning dark brushed metallic plinth, edged in high gloss black creates a stunning platform for the iconic Planar-3. The RS Edition includes a custom matched NEO Mk2 PSU with each motor vibration circuit hand tuned to each individual motor. This low noise 24V motor drives the sub platter via Rega's Reference EBLT drive belt for ultimate accuracy in speed control. The legendary Rega RB330 handmade tonearm is factory fitted with the all new Nd5 moving magnet cartridge.
All this for £999 SRP - this in itself is a saving of over £160 when compared to the SRPs of the individual package elements.
Due on demo and in stock very soon here at Basically Sound whilst further information is available here.
