Rega's Latest Integrated Amplifier Makes Its Entrance...
We got visual hints of Rega's latest integrated amplifier design at the Bristol Show earlier this year, only for them to take another nine months to fine tune and hone the design further still. And it shows immediately in the build quality. Weighing in at nearly 18kg, the new Rega Aethos certainly makes itself known when you unpack this rather elegant product from its box.
And the beauty is more than skin deep. Rega have created a no compromise product with one goal, to deliver your music as faithfully as possible. The Aethos has been built to Rega’s high standards of reliability and quality to ensure many years of musical enjoyment.
Rega's expertise has been spent on developing the circuit and construction, utilising the highest specification of components throughout. As part of the design they have included useful features such as a switchable direct input and pre-amplifier outputs to enable the new Aethos to be used in a wide combination of systems.
Even the integral headphone circuit has been designed such that the speaker switching is performed by the output mute relay so as to not obstruct the signal path and degrade the sound quality.
Taking the design concepts already underpinning Rega's excellent Elex-R and Elicit-R amplifiers, they have moved the performance up to the next level and beyond with a 125watt dual mono design with features such as fully discrete FET based line amplifier, polypropylene capacitors throughout the signal path, K-Power reservoir capacitors, power amplifier regulated supply and a high current output stage comprising of four 160w Sanken output transistors per channel.
Now on demo here at Basically Sound, we would be happy to offer you a demo of this superb amplifier at your convenience.Find out more
