New Rega Planar 8 Turntable Launched - And Now On Demo
Rega have now launched the latest turntable in their excellent Planar range, namely the Planar 8.
Rega decided to develop the new Planar 8 to encapsulate the essence of their ultimate 'Naiad' turntable concept, but at an affordable price point. Their aim was to deliver a level of performance far beyond that which has been previously achieved at this level.
The Planar 8 is engineered to extract as much detail from the record's grooves as possible. To achieve this, Rega have used the most advanced materials and engineering solutions, all built around a supremely lightweight plinth to ensure the highest level of performance possible.
The Planar 8 is supplied with the new RB880 tonearm and the excellent Neo PSU as standard.
The RB880 has an improved vertical bearing assembly for improved stability and rigidity, whilst a thinner stainless steel counterweight offers greater adjustability and compatibility. The tonearm is terminated with a new low-capacitance phono cable to ensure the best possible signal path between cartridge & phono stage.
The Neo PSU offers electronic speed change, advanced anti-vibration control and user adjustable electronic fine speed adjustment which, in conjunction with the triple layer glass platter, thereby ensures total accuracy and control over the turntable's speed and pitch.
The outer frame and hinged lid of the RP-8's design has now been removed and a new single piece dustcover has been introduced.
The Planar 8 will be available either without a cartridge or with the Rega Ania or Apheta 2 MC cartridges as factory fitted options, each at attractive, discounted package prices.
The Planar 8 is due here at Basically Sound very soon indeed.Find out more
