Chord's Qutest Creation
Chord Electronics are launching the most advanced compact DAC on the planet @ CES, Las Vegas today.
Called the Qutest, it is a highly accomplished standalone device, based on the latest proprietary Chord FPGA technology developed for the class-leading Hugo 2 DAC/headphone amp.
Qutest uses an all-new precision-machined aluminium chassis and includes several new features, including fascia controls.
Qutest is the latest evolution of Chord Electronics’ most affordable standalone DAC, the multi-award-winning 2Qute, which it directly replaces. It features a galvanically isolated USB-B, optical and dual coaxial digital inputs, giving an instant upgrade to digital audio devices.
Qutest offers support for up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM & DSD512 via USB-B, 24-bit/384kHz PCM & DSD128 via coaxial (BNC) and 24-bit/192kHz data on optical TOSLink.
The Qutest chassis is all-new too, being precision-machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminium billet. A further new feature is a user-selectable output voltage for more flexible connectivity with partnering devices.
The latest FPGA and advanced WTA (Watts Transient Aligned) filters have also been implemented in the Qutest, along with user-selectable filtering option.
Already on order for demo and stock and we are being told it should be here towards the end of January... and we're quite excited to be perfectly honest.Find out more
